At OMGG, our story is rooted in family, tradition, and the belief that everyone deserves homemade desserts that bring comfort and joy—without compromising their health. What began as a personal journey in a warm, laughter-filled kitchen has grown into a celiac-safe bakery devoted to gluten-free treats for the Southern Maryland community and beyond.
Where It All Began
Baking has always been a cherished part of my world. As a child, I spent countless hours helping my mother create homemade desserts and gluten free treats, learning not just recipes but also the love, patience, and creativity that filled our kitchen. When she passed away in 2004, I found healing by stepping into a cake-decorating class—an experience we had always hoped to share. That bittersweet decision ignited a deeper passion and motivated me to teach myself the art of cake decorating from the ground up, ultimately leading me to dream of a celiac-safe bakery.
A Challenge That Became a Calling
In 2020, my life took a sharp turn when I developed a wheat/gluten intolerance. Suddenly, the recipes passed down from my mother—treasured, comforting, familiar—were no longer safe for me. Re-creating them as gluten-free treats wasn’t easy, and at first, I struggled. Some customers drifted away, and I had moments of doubt about my celiac-safe bakery.
But adversity became an opportunity. Through trial, error, and persistence, I learned to transform classic flavors into gluten-free creations that still tasted like home. In the process, I discovered an entire community searching for the same thing: homemade desserts they could trust.
